Caroline

My Daughter's life in my not so elegant words.

I'm not sure I'm ready to share your blog with the outside world yet, so maybe I'll start overseas... I think that's what famous people do to get an initial reaction to their work ;-)

Caroline, you have to wonderful cousins, Damian & Alan, living in a grand palace somewhere in the beautiful countryside outside of London, England about three thousand five hundred miles away. Damian called last night and wanted to know how you were getting on, so I've decided to post this video of you playing in the leaves recently:

While I'm at it, I may as well post some other videos of you, this one is of you and your friend Ben riding around the block:

and this one is of you taking your first steps:

Hopefully you'll get to meet Damian & Alan one of these days, I'm sure they can't wait to meet you.

I wrote this on October 15, 2006:

Your vocabulary has been growing, now you an say and know the meaning of:
Night-Night (you say Ni - Ni)
Bottle (You say Bop)
Hot (You say Tot)
Water (You say Wawa)
Cat (You say cat)
Duck (You say Quack)
Liam (YOU SAY LIAM LIAM LIAM)
Bath (You say Bat)
Bye Bye(You say Bye Bye)
Dog (You say doggie doggie doggie)
There's more, as you repeat things we say everyday, you also have some distinctive gestures:
Bye (You wave your hands)
Yay (You clap whenever you hear applause, mostly on live tracks on my Ipod)
I dunno (You shrug your shoulders)
Pick me up (you raise your arms at someone)
We had a little vacation at the beach last month, and you met Fran & Steve from London.
On another note, you've been having a tough time at night with your first molars. Two have come through on the bottom, and we suspect the top two are coming soon. This has had you waking up around 11pm every night screaming, and not going to bed for 2-3 hours. Hopefully this will pass soon, as your Mom & I are losing a little sleep.

As for current events...
You have been doing slightly better at night with your teeth, but you still have a long way to go. You're a tough kid, but these teeth are getting the better of you. During the day you are always smiling and happy to discover new things.

Grandma & Grandpa stopped by on Saturday and took you to the Bronx to walk around a historic mansion and grounds. Afterwards they took you for some real Italian food on Arthur Ave, they said you were great, as per usual.

You have been growing alot, in two months you've grown 2 inches as marked on the basement door.

Here are some of the new things I've heard you say:
"What's This?" - you say this and point to now things.
"Wow!" - whenever something excites you like food.
"Quack" - referring to a duck.
"Teletubbies" - your favorite show, pronounced not exactly as we say it, but we know what you mean.
